Roy Davis Henderson - 78, Hilden, died Thursday, August 15, 2024, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Bayhead, he was a son of the late Russell and Doris (Tattrie) Henderson.
He worked at Brookfield/Scotsburn Dairy as the production manager for 50 years from where he retired at the age of 71; he very much enjoyed working there and was a dedicated employee. His heart was always at the farm in Tatamagouche where he raised his children and farmed cows, pigs, horses, chickens and goats in his spare time. He liked to buy and renovate properties, the latest being the family cottage in River Lake where many memories were made. He loved all his grandchildren and the time he spent with them.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Starr (Blackwell); his daughter, Michelle Henderson; his son, Mike (Joann) Henderson; his daughter, Pamela (Kenny) Henderson; stepdaughter, Jay-J (Andy) Crowe; stepson, Chris (Amanda) Currie. His grandchildren, talented and feisty Jordyn, sweet and beautiful Madison, his pride and joy Anthony, never late lol Spitfire Meghan, smart and hardworking Brooklyn, quiet and shy Colson, beautiful and shy Aly, and smart gamer Crosby. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his granddaughter, Lyndsay; siblings, Johnny Henderson, Edith (Berry) Doyle, Danny (Margo) Henderson, Gordy (Ann) Henderson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, Reverend Shannon MacLean officiating. Reception will follow. Interment will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, at Bayhead (Union Church) Cemetery, West Tatamagouche.
