Laurel Ann Clarke
– 84, Truro, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 2,
2024, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Truro, she was the
only child of the late Laurie and Julia (Bishop) Fullerton.
Laurel was a social
butterfly and many will remember her from the community events,
socials, and local establishments that she frequently attended.
Growing up she spent many summers at her family's homestead in New
Brunswick which she always told fond childhood memories of. She lived
and worked in Ontario for many years and then moved to Halifax before
returning home to Truro to care for her parents. She enjoyed roads
trips and shopping and had a sense of fashion that could not be
matched. She was proud to be a strong and independent woman and had an
eye for good looking men.
Words cannot
adequately express the gratitude that we have for all of the staff at
Cedarstone Enhanced Care and for the excellent care they provided
Laurel during her four years living there. All of you, along with her
wide circle of friends, became her family and she was so very grateful
to have all of you in her life.
Honouring
Laurel’s wishes, a private interment will be held in Bible
Hill Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive, Bible Hill, Reverend Shannon MacLean officiating.
If so desired, donations in Laurel’s memory to Canadian Red
Cross (Truro Branch) or Colchester East Hants Hospital Foundation are
welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall
– Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street,
Truro. Tributes, words of comfort and
memories may be shared at:
