Patricia Colleen "Pat" Clarke-Buchanan –
81, North River, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2024,
at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in New Glasgow,
she was a daughter of the late Stewart and Christina (Cameron)
Patton.
Pat worked with Department of Community Services for many
years. She was active with local elections as a DRO for many years.
She always put others ahead of herself, and this was most evident
while she provided palliative care for her parents and her husbands.
She was loved by all who knew her. She loved to bake and cook and many
will remember the great meals that she would prepare for family and
friends, not even needing a special occasion to do this on. She
enjoyed bowling in earlier years, belonging to various leagues, and in
later years especially enjoyed being outdoors, sipping a good cup of
tea by the fire. Pat was so happy that she could remain in her own
home right up until the time of her death.
Pat is survived by her children, Frederick Clarke, North
River; Katherine Johansson, Gothenburg, Sweden; granddaughter, Kajsa
Johansson, Gothenburg, Sweden; step children, Dennis Buchanan, Bible
Hill; Ann (Clayton) Crocker, Onslow Mountain; Mike (Cathy) Buchanan,
Harmony; Jason (Laura) Buchanan, Greenfield; step grandchildren,
Cheryl Linkletter, McAdam, New Brunswick; Garrett Buchanan, Onslow;
Brylin Buchanan, Harmony; Gage Buchanan, Greenfield; step great
grandchildren, Jonas Linkletter, McAdam, New Brunswick; Lilly
Buchanan, Onslow; many nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her second
husband, Leonard Donald Buchanan; first husband, Frederick Keith
Clarke; brother, Ronald Patton.
