Reverend Michael Glen Sampson – 70, Valley, Colchester County, passed away suddenly, as a result of natural causes, on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at home. Born in Sydney, he was a son of the late Maurice and Rita (Cahill) Sampson.

Glen started his working career as Professor of Weed Science at Nova Scotia Agricultural College, now Dal AC, He became ordained with the Presbyterian church in 2011 and served within the Northern New Brunswick Regional Ministry (Tabusintac Pastoral Charge) at St. Luke’s (Bathurst), Knox (Campbellton), St. John’s (Dalhousie) and New Carlisle. He was currently teaching Weed Science at Dal AC, filling in for a sabbatical, at the time of his death.

Glen loved bird watching and providing gardening and horticulture advice. His children and grandchildren will remember being on drives with Glen when the car would suddenly stop and Glen would jump out to photograph and study a particular weed; he was always learning and loved teaching moments. He and his late wife, Debbie loved being on the water, and they could often be found along the shore experiencing what the Bay of Chaleur had to offer. They also enjoyed Scottish Country dancing together.
