Dorothy Mae (Johnston) Geldart - 87, Bible Hill, passed away on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with her family by her side, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Wife of the late Floyd Geldart, she was born in Sheba, Queens County, New Brunswick. She was a daughter of the late Jim and Mae (Baxter) Johnston of Carsonville, New Brunswick.

Dorothy was a loving mother to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren who gave her so much joy and loved her dearly.

Dorothy is survived by her sons, Derek (Andrea), Antigonish; Eric (Ardyth), Riversdale;  grandchildren, Stephen, Robin, Nikki, Brad, Colin, Jacklyn, Tanner, Skylar, Shealee, Adam; great grandchildren, Kylie, Callum, Rebecca, Alexander, Finley, Robbie, Audrey, Lexie, Sophie, Tessa; siblings, Isabel Hayes, Sussex, New Brunswick; Allen (Debbie), Carsonville, New Brunswick; Alonzo (Carol), Moncton, New Brunswick; Beryl (Arthur) Long, Liverpool; several nieces, nephews and cousins; in-laws, Wink, Mickey, Gladys.

Along with her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Marge (Geldart) McCallum; son, James; brother, Hazen Davisdon.

Many thanks to family and friends who were so helpful, and a sincere thank you to the Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, who were so caring in her final days.

Arrangements for cremation have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. There will be no visitation. A private family gathering will take place. If so desired, donations in Dorothy’s memory to Colchester East-Hants Hospice Society are welcomed.
