David Wesley Sullivan - 63, Truro, passed away on Monday, May
18, 2026, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born in Halifax, he was
the son of the late Rev. John Ross Sullivan (2018) and Joan Mildred
Irene (Hanes) Sullivan (2000). He is survived by
his brother, Edward Sullivan, Ontario, and sister, Violet (Sullivan)
Beattie (Eric), Halifax.
Although he had no children of his own, he loved being an
uncle to Andrew (Alexandra) and Jessica Beattie, and was loved by his
great niece, Jacqueline and great nephew, Jeremiah. In addition to his
parents, he was predeceased by brothers, Douglas Ronald Sullivan
(1986) and Frederick Alonzo Sullivan (1966).
David graduated from Oromocto High School in New
Brunswick in 1983 and worked as a general labourer until the onset of
his disability. He was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in
Truro and was very involved in the Lions Club, Canadian Cancer
Society, PC Party of Nova Scotia, a greeter at Giant Tiger and in
helping the homeless in Truro.
Celebration of David’s life will be held 3 p.m.,
Saturday, May 30, 2026, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 295 Young Street,
Truro. Reception will follow. Interment will be held 1 p.m.,
Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to Diabetes Canada, Alzheimer
Society of Nova Scotia, Truro and District Lions Club or Canadian
Cancer Society are welcomed.
