Mary Anna Perry – 84, Truro. It is with great
sadness that we, the children of the late Mary Anna Perry, announce
that we lost our family anchor. Our Mom passed away at home on Friday,
May 22, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, she was the daughter of the
late Bertrand and Estella (Hamilton) Baird.
Mom and Dad were married for 63 years, and Dad passed away in
2022.
Mom had many jobs over the years, but none were as important
to her as her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she
loved unconditionally.
Mom is survived by her children, Cindy, Jim (Georgette),
Janice (James), John (Fania), Steve (Lisa); brother, Steve (Becky)
Baird; sisters-in-law, Sally (Jack), Barb Gorman, Isabel Perry; 13
grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren with one more later this year;
several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Elson (2022); siblings, Joan, Bob, Carol, Jack.
We would like to thank Dr. Steven Cook, Dr. Cortney Smith and
Mom’s respite workers, Kathy, Susan and Debbie for all their
excellent care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Mary’s
family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, May 31, 2026.
Private interment in Bible Hill Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive, Bible Hill.
If so desired, donations in Mary’s memory to
Maggie’s Place are welcomed.
