Joanne Lynn Burris – 65, Valley, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Lorena (Burgess) Creelman.

Joanne worked at Stanfield’s in the accounting department for 40 years. She was a very generous person with a big heart; she always put the well-being of others before herself. She enjoyed shopping for a bargain, and getting a good deal, and Colin, Cody and others have been the recipients of these bountiful deals! Above all, she loved her grandchildren immensely and enjoyed going to yard sales with them, babysitting them, spending time with them and spoiling them with treats; Nannie had an abundance of treats in her house and the kids knew this!

Joanne is survived by her sons, Colin (Andrea) Burris, Truro; Cody Burris, Bible Hill; grandchildren, Jewell Burris, Isabella Burris, Finnley Burris; siblings, Kathy (Kevin) MacDonald, Bible Hill; Roddie Creelman, Truro; Randy Creelman (Bona), Bible Hill; Lisa Creelman, Bible Hill; several nieces and nephews.

We would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Trevor Locke for his care over the years and to the Palliative Care Unit at Colchester East Hants Health Centre for your care and support.

Private interment will be held in Bible Hill Cemetery, 41 Warren Drive, Bible Hill, at a later date. If so desired, donations in Joanne’s memory to IWK Health Centre Foundation are welcomed.
