Stephen Foster "Steve" Wilson – 76,
Portaupique. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of
Stephen Foster "Steve" Wilson on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at
Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a
son of June (Ryan) Wilson, Truro, and the late Raymond Foster
Wilson.
Stephen joined Canadian Armed Forces in 1971 and retired in
1998; he was part of Royal Canadian Regiment with many deployments in
Egypt, England, Norway, Newfoundland and Jamaica with postings in
Petawawa (ON), Oromocto (NB) and he then spent 12 years with
Commissionaires in Truro.
Along with his father, Stephen was predeceased by his
brother, Michael (Val) Wilson.
Along with his mother, June, a special lady of 98 years,
living at Cedarstone Enhanced Care in Truro, Stephen is survived by
his wife of 54 years, Bev (Smithers) Wilson; daughters, Christina
Wilson, Portaupique; Carrie-Jo Wilson, Portaupique; grandson, Brandon
Wilson "Buds", who was the best part of Stephen’s
world every day. He is also survived by his brother, Rick (Nancy)
Wilson, Truro; sister, Carolyn (Paul) Roberts, Highland Village;
Mary-Jo Wilson, Ingersoll, Ontario; several nieces and
nephews.
Special thanks are extended to the doctors and nursing staff
at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, second floor E2, especially
the nurse with pink hair and the nurse with the pink fanny pack; both
of you were very special to Stephen.
A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held from
1-5 p.m., Saturday, June 27, 2026, at Royal Canadian Legion, Branch
72, Great Village, 8 Great Village Lornevale Road, Great Village. If
so desired, donations in Stephen’s memory to Canadian Cancer
Society are welcomed.
