Helen Katherine Withrow – 91, Truro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 18, 2026, following a period of ill health, at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Joseph and Florence Maude (Roach) McCormick, and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Helen was employed at Colchester Legion Stadium for 31 years. While working at the Stadium, she made many, many friends, and was known as the "fry lady" amongst the patrons. Helen was always busy and was involved with her church, Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Truro. She was Past President of Catholic Women’s League, was an active member of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro, and also a member of Liberal party of Nova Scotia where she was named a life member.

Helen is survived by her son, Kevin Withrow, Truro; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Wilbert Withrow; brother, Ronald Duncan McCormick.

Thanks and gratitude are expressed to Dr. Neil Bower, Nisha Waques and Dr. Stephen Ellis for their care over the years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2026 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, Father Gregory Nduka officiating. Reception will follow in Campbell Hall. Interment in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. If so desired, donations in Helen’s memory to VON (Colchester East Hants) or Earth Angels are welcomed.
