M.H. Liane Whalen – 64, Truro. With much sadness, we announce the passing of M.H. Liane Whalen that occurred on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro. Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, Liane was the daughter of Edith Mary (Savoy) Whalen, Truro, and the late James William Whalen.

The owner of Fraser's Pastry for 30 years, Liane was known for her delicious rolls, breads, and pastries, had a flair for wedding cakes and supported many local charities within the community.

In recent years, Liane discovered a passion for motorcycles, spending much of her well-earned free time riding with her husband, touring Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Along with her mother, Liane is survived by her loving husband, David DeWolfe, Truro; older brothers, Chris Whalen (Andrea), Moncton, New Brunswick; David Whalen (Louise), Saint John, New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews.

Liane had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 669 Prince Street, Truro, at a later date. If so desired, donations in Liane’s memory to Colchester SPCA are welcomed.
