Alice Lillian Williams – 106, Truro, formerly of
Bible Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, June 20, 2026
at The Mira Long Term Care Centre, Truro. Born in East Stewiacke, she
was a daughter of the late George and Bertie (Atkinson)
McFadden.
Alice was a member of First United Church, Truro, and had
also attended St. David’s United Church in Bible Hill. She
was an avid baseball fan and loved cheering on her favourite team,
Toronto Blue Jays; while living in Ontario, she saw many live baseball
games with her siblings, which she enjoyed immensely. She loved
travelling and had visited Hawaii, California, Florida, Germany and
England. She enjoyed bowling, dancing with seniors dance groups and
absolutely loved doing puzzles, including cryptoquote, crossword and
Sudoku; in her words, "The harder the puzzle, the
better!"
Alice is survived by her brother, Gerald "Bud"
McFadden, Belleville, Ontario; granddaughter, Ashley (Jamie) Green,
Burlington, Ontario; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Williams, Fonthill,
Ontario; many nieces and nephews in Canada and the
USA.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Harold Leroy "Bun" Williams; her only son, Roger Leroy
Williams; siblings, Gordon in infancy, Elwood McFadden, Harold
McFadden, Lorne McFadden, and Margaret
MacLeod.
We would like to extend a very special thanks to Sandra Ross
who was Alice’s caregiver and friend since 2001, to the VON
and to the caring staff at The Mira.
Interment will be held at a later date in Pine Grove
Cemetery, East Stewiacke. If so desired, donations in
Alice’s memory to Colchester Food Network and Canadian
Cancer Society are welcomed.
