Liam Gerard Murphy – 51, Dartmouth. It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Liam Murphy, who passed away peacefully on Friday, July 3, 2026, at Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Halifax with his loving family by his side.

Liam leaves behind his devoted wife, Alicia (Robinson); his children, Nicholas (Paige), Katelyn (Nathan), Makayla; his cherished grandchildren, Kyzen and Lorelai; his brother, Todd; his beloved fur companions, Zoey and Bailey.

He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Mary "Corinne" (Mahoney) and his loyal four-legged companion, Bowser.

Liam embraced life wholeheartedly and found joy in the simple moments spent with family and friends. Some of his happiest times were at the campground, where Thursdays meant El De Rado gatherings, Friday nights were for darts, and Saturdays were reserved for washers, laughter, and making memories.

A gifted cook who loved entertaining, Liam was known for preparing meals that always seemed to take a little longer—but every bite was made with love. Around the campground, he proudly served as the official "trailer mover" and became a beloved tradition as the park's Santa Claus, a role he took very seriously. He always made sure the job was done before enjoying his well-earned beer. Wednesday evenings were dedicated to classic country music, with the radio turned up loud while he enjoyed a few beers and long conversations with his friends, Ed, Corey and Lewis.

Liam and Alicia shared countless adventures together. They purchased property at Sutherland's Lake, where they enjoyed snowmobiling, riding their side-by-side, and relaxing around the campfire. Together they also traveled south on vacations, visited Nashville to experience the Grand Ole Opry, celebrated the 50th running of the Daytona 500, and attended NASCAR races in New Hampshire.

A hardworking truck driver, Liam logged countless miles throughout his career. He treasured taking Nicholas and Katelyn on trucking trips when they were young. During the early months of their relationship, Alicia often joined him on the open road. Their faithful companion, Bowser, loved traveling alongside Liam and never liked being left behind, patiently waiting for his return.

Family vacations created memories that would be talked about for years. One favorite was a trip to Canada's Wonderland and the CN Tower. Anyone who knew Liam knew he had a fear of heights. Nicholas couldn't resist jumping on the glass floor, giving his father quite a scare while Katelyn and Makayla laughed from the sidelines—a memory the family will always cherish.

Liam also enjoyed watching football and hockey with his father and treasured getaways to various Airbnb destinations with Ed, Sheila, Gary, Karen, and Alicia.

Above all else, Liam adored his grandchildren. He was incredibly proud of Kyzen and Lorelai and looked forward to making many more memories with them, especially taking them for rides in the side-by-side.

Anyone who knew Liam will remember his unmistakable, infectious laugh. At the campground, you never had to look for him—you simply listened for his laugh. His kindness, generosity, sense of humor, and unwavering love for family and friends will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the countless memories Liam leaves behind and the lasting impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where a funeral service will be held 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 16, 2026. Reception will follow.

Forever loved. Forever missed. Never forgotten.
