Stephanie Joyce (DesJardins) Gloade – 40,
Kentville, passed away on Friday, Juily 3, 2026 at Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of David
(Crystal) DesJardins, Lower Truro, and Cindy Meadows,
Trenton.
Stephanie has worked as a Peer Support Worker in many places,
most recently with Elizabeth Fry Society of Nova Scotia as an
Indigenous Peer Support Worker and also with Stepping Stones NS,
helping to support victims of human trafficking, addictions,
homelessness, domestic abuse, sexual abuse and incarceration. She
loved horses, and had a soft spot in her heart for any stray
animal.
Along with her father and mother, Stephanie is survived by
her children, Kelleigh Farr, Laylah Farr, Jayden Gloade; sister,
Jacquelene (Robert) MacLean, Trenton; many aunts, uncles, nieces,
nephews and cousins.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the Boudreau
family who always treated Stephanie as if she was their own daughter,
and also Dee and Mike in the Annapolis Valley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where
Stephanie’s family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m.,
Friday, July 17, 2026. If so desired, donations in
Stephanie’s memory to CARMA Colchester or Colchester SPCA
are welcomed.
