Terry
Irving McCallum – 61, North River, passed away suddenly at
home early Friday morning, July 17, 2026, as the result of an
unexpected medical emergency. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late
Clarence and Sharon (Lynds)
McCallum.
Terry
was a trucker all of his life and absolutely loved it. He worked with
Albany Cartage, Flemming Feeds, and for the past 25 years with TDL
Group Corp. He enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of North Shore
Snowmobile Club and also exploring with his side by side. He was very
meticulous about the upkeep of his truck and his toys, and many would
say he had the cleanest truck in Colchester County, perhaps even Nova
Scotia! He and his friends travelled around to different areas to take
in stock car racing. He had a soft spot in his heart for his
grand-dog, Sam.
Terry
is survived by his wife of 32 years, Susan (Terry); sons, Craig
(Taylor) McCallum, North River; Trent McCallum (MacKenzie Boyd), North
River; siblings, Roger (Lorna) McCallum, Earltown; Darren (Jackie)
McCallum, Lawrencetown, Halifax County; Jason McCallum, Truro; Sonya
McCallum, Mississauga, Ontario; several nieces and
nephews.
Terry’s family would like to express
their heartfelt thanks to members of North River and District Fire
Brigade for their assistance and efforts.
Funeral
service will be held 4 p.m., Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Community
United Church, 250 Brunswick Street, Truro. If so desired, donations in
Terry’s memory to STEPS on Arthur or North Shore Snowmobile
Club are welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall
