EAGLES: Violet LaMont Mae (Adams), 82, Onslow, and formerly of
Londonderry, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2007 at her home in
Onslow. Born in Westchester Station, she was the daughter of the late
Leander and Bertha (Wark) Adams. She was the last surviving member of
her immediate family. She was predeceased by her husband Newton;
daughter, Ethel Fraser (Eagles); an infant son; grandson, Calven;
sister, Lois Bradshaw (Adams); brothers, Leonard, Joseph, and Leroy
Adams. She served with the Canadian Women’s Army Corps from
1942-43. She was a stay at home Mom who enjoyed cooking, spending time
with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and relating tales from
the “old days”. She will be lovingly remembered by her
companion, Stewart Eagles; son, Kelly (Linda) Eagles; daughters, Loyis
(Loyal) Crocker; Donna, (Richard) Joseph. She will also be lovingly
remembered and sorely missed by her grandchildren, Dana, Shawn, Jason
Eagles, David, Lyle Crocker, Cassandra McCully, Betty Anne Childs,
David Eagles, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1-2pm Thursday, January 25, followed by funeral service at 2pm, all in the Mattatall Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, Pastor Steve Adams officiating, with a reception to follow in the funeral home. Burial to be held at a later date in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Londonderry. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the Hillcrest Cemetery, Londonderry.
