Frederick Kent “Fred” Prodger – 86, Lower Truro,
passed away peacefully Tuesday evening, July 20, 2010, in Colchester
Regional Hospital. Born October 17, 1923, in Lower Truro, he was a son
of the late Alfred and Winnifred (Kent) Prodger.
For most of his life, Fred worked on his father’s farm. In 1999,
when the farm was sold, Fred then worked as a transport truck driver
for Loughead’s Trucking, Taylor’s Transfer and
Thompson’s Transfer. Fred was a dedicated worker and was very
supportive of all community events and projects. He enjoyed going to
the local league hockey games.
Fred is survived by his brother, Arthur “Art”, Bible Hill;
nephew, Jim Prodger (Stephanie Simonsen), Truro; several family
members in England, numerous cousins and a wide circle of friends.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Olive
Sanderson.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home,
55 Young Street, Truro, where the funeral service will be held 10:30
a.m., Friday, July 23, 2010, Reverend Ian Harrison officiating.
Interment in Old Barns Cemetery. If so desired, donations in
