Violet Hazel Moore - 88, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully,
surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, at
Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born October 17, 1922, in
Brookfield, she was a daughter of the late William and Florence
(Boomer) Maynard.
Hazel was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed the many special times they spent together.
Hazel is survived by her children, Sylvester Moore, Harmony; Clarence (Ellen) Moore, Truro; Shirley Sibley, Truro Heights; Ruth Moore, Peterborough, Ontario; Diane (John) Sabourin, Harmony; Gloria (Harold) McNutt, Bible Hill; William “Bill” Moore (Nadine McKay), Harmony; Leon (Rose) Moore, Bible Hill; Gary (Jamie) Moore, Holtville, New Brunswick; Lillian (Eric) MacKay, Truro; Eric Moore, Greenfield; Shelley (Norman) McKeil, Miramichi, New Brunswick; Valerie Moore, Bible Hill; Wanda (Randy) McLean, Truro; sisters, Helen Tanner, Mae Schurm, both of Ontario; Phyllis Maynard, Truro; brother, Donald (Shirley) Maynard, Bible Hill; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Edward David Moore; daughter, Florence Rose Tufts; son, Albert Wayne Moore; sisters, Dorothy, Jessie; brothers, Walter, Art, Percy, George; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Hazel’s family will receive friends from 2-4, 7-9 p.m., Friday, July 1, 2011, and where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2011, Reverend George Irving Luke, II, officiating. Interment will be held in Harmony Cemetery. Flowers or donations in Hazel’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of choice are welcomed.
