Clara Putnam - 84, Truro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Saturday evening, August 13, 2011, in Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born February 19, 1927, in Upper Stewiacke, she was a daughter of the late John and Enid (Henley) Miller.

Clara is survived by her children, Shirley (Roy) Fulton, Sharon (Ted) Fulton, Alberta; James (Judy), Bible Hill; Leona Morris, Dartmouth; Debbie (Leroy) Burris, Hilden; John, Alberta; Judy (Richard) Defore, Randy (Cathy), British Columbia; Darlene Putnam, Truro; siblings, Fred (Betty) Miller, Alberta; Bessie MacKay, Hilden; Ray (Violet) Miller, Alberta; Isaac (Marlene) Miller, British Columbia; Ralph Miller, Alberta; Willa (Frank) Rogers, Brookfield; Harold Miller, Ontario; Joyce Cox, Otterbrook; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Harvey Putnam; common-law husband, Wilbert Carlyle “Bill” Stewart; siblings, Gladys (Ervin) McCoul, Curtis Miller, Ronald Miller, Lester Miller, Aubrey Miller; Elizabeth, Eva and John in infancy.

All are welcome to attend a graveside service that will be held 1 p.m., Saturday, August 20, 2011, in West Branch Cemetery, MacCallum Settlement, Reverend Brian DeLong officiating. If so desired, donations in Clara’s memory to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or Lung Association of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
