James Douglas “Jim” Fisher - 54, Green Oaks. With heavy
hearts we regret to announce the sudden passing of our dear Jim on

Green Oaks. Born June 26, 1957, in Truro, he was a son of Joyce

Fisher. (Both formerly of Princeport)
An avid and skilled outdoorsman, Jim loved hunting and fishing and began working in the woods at an early age. He then went on to work with Weir and Toole, owned and operated his own siding business and worked for Colchester East Hants District School Board. Currently, he worked at Green Oaks Dairy Farm and also in the woods, where his working years began.
Along with his mother, Jim is survived by his son, Derek Fisher, Frankville, Antigonish County; grandchildren, Ethan, Sophia; brothers, Glenn (Claudia) Fisher, Valley; David (Wanda) Fisher, North River; sisters, Janet Stephens, Truro; Carolyn Tully, Valley; Ellen McLellan, Onslow; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Along with his father, he was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Jean (MacIntosh) Smith; paternal grandparents, Frederick and Ida (MacLennan) Fisher.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Jim’s family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2012, and where the funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, January 21, 2012, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating.
