Johnstone, Pearl Augusta, 60, Truro; It is with great sadness we the
family of our Special Sister and Aunt, Pearl Augusta Johnstone who
lived a quiet life with years of pain and suffering announce her
peaceful passing on Wednesday, January 25, 2012 in the Colchester
Regional Hospital Truro. Pearl fought a hard battle with diabetes and
other illness, but always had a smile for her friends who she never
forgot. Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late Floyd Vernon and
Claraissa “Clara” (Tutty) Johnstone. Pearl was a kind and
giving soul with a heart as big as the Heavens. Surviving are
brothers, David Johnstone and wife Carol, Truro; William Johnstone,
Bible Hill; Sisters, Janet and Wayne, Truro; Marjorie and Irving,
Bible Hill; Joyce and Neil, Hopewell, Pictou County; Ardith and Dale,
Masstown; Annetta Rushton, Kemptown. She was predeceased by sister,
Betty; brother, Robert; niece Kimberly; brother-in-law, Alton. Thanks
to the Truro Hospital and staff. Visitation will be held 7-9pm
Saturday, January 28, and funeral service 2pm Sunday, January 29, all
in the Mattatall ~ Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street Truro, Rev.
Fred Whittier officiating, with a reception to follow. Interment to be
held at a later date in the Watson Cemetery Truro. In lieu of flowers
donations in Pearl’s memory may be made to the Colchester
Community Workshop in Truro or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
