Marg (Woodworth) Kennedy – Truro, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow. Born in Milford, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Josephine Woodworth.

Marg worked for the Civil Service in Halifax for many years and then moved to Truro and worked in several offices as a bookkeeper where she eventually started her own business. Prior to her retirement, she also taught school at the Vocational School in Truro. She was a Charter Member of Truro Business Girls Curling Club, member of Ladies Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro, and was a past member of Truro Golf Club.

Marg is survived by her step-daughter, Sharon (Smitty) Smith, Shortts Lake; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Percy; step-son, John; sisters, Sadie, Helen, Esty, Muriel; brothers, Bill, Sidney, Douglas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Marg’s family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, and where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2013, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow. Spring interment in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro. Family flowers only. If so desired, donations in Marg’s memory to Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia are welcomed.
