Marg (Woodworth) Kennedy – Truro, passed
away peacefully on Friday, March 8, 2013, at Glen Haven Manor, New
Glasgow. Born in Milford, she was a daughter of the late Charles and
Josephine Woodworth.
Marg worked for the Civil Service in Halifax for many years
and then moved to Truro and worked in several offices as a bookkeeper
where she eventually started her own business. Prior to her
retirement, she also taught school at the Vocational School in Truro.
She was a Charter Member of Truro Business Girls Curling Club, member
of Ladies Auxiliary of Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro, and
was a past member of Truro Golf Club.
Marg is survived by her step-daughter, Sharon (Smitty) Smith,
Shortts Lake; several step grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Along
with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Percy; step-son,
John; sisters, Sadie, Helen, Esty, Muriel; brothers, Bill, Sidney,
Douglas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Marg’s
family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m., Monday, March 11, 2013, and
where the funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 12,
2013, Reverend Valerie Kingsbury officiating. Reception will follow.
Spring interment in Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie Street, Truro.
