John James McCann - 87, Truro passed away on Sunday, May 18,
2014, at Cedarstone Enhanced Care, Truro. Born August 3, 1926, in
Donkin, Cape Breton, he was the eighth child of the late Daniel and
Bridget (McManus) McCann, and was the last surviving member of his
immediate family.
Along with his parents, he was predeceased by brothers,
William, Arthur, Daniel, Peter; sisters, Mary, Catherine
"Toots", Florence, Grace; first wife,
Claudia.
He leaves heartbroken the loves of his life, his wife of
three days short of 43 years, Dorothy; daughter, Michelle. A beloved
uncle and trusted friend, he will be fondly remembered by his many
nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m.,
Thursday, May 22, 2014, in St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic
Church, Donkin, Father Norman MacPhee officiating. John will rest with
his family at St. Gregory’s Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.
If so desired, donations in John’s memory to Colchester East
Hants Health Centre Foundation or St. Gregory’s Roman
Catholic Church Cemetery Fund are welcomed.
